Colin Hanks has been signed up by the TV series based on the Coen Brothers' Fargo, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The star of Roswell, Dexter and Mad Men will play police deputy Gus Grimly, a single father who has to choose between his personal safety and his duty as a police officer when he finds himself face-to-face with a killer in the upcoming ten-part series.
The self-contained series will be written by Noah Hawley, who will also share executive producer duties with the Coens.
Fargo also stars Martin Freeman and Billy Bob Thornton, and will air on FX in America next Spring. A UK release has yet to be confirmed.
