Day Of The Doctor For Worldwide Simulcast

The Day Of The Doctor is to receive a worldwide Simulcast, it has been revealed.

It was already known that the episode would air on the same day in the UK and the US, but now the BBC have confirmed that the episode will air at the same time in at least seventy-five countries, including the UK, US, Australia and Canada.

Says showrunner Steven Moffat on the move "The Doctor has always been a time traveller - now he's travelling time zones. On the 23rd of November, it won't be the bad guys conquering the Earth - everywhere it will be 'The Day of the Doctor'!"

There is no word as yet as to what time the episode will air, but I'm predicting 5:15pm GMT - the original air time of the very first episode all those years ago. The same timeslot was used for last year's Christmas special The Snowmen, which was a ratings success, so the BBC know that they can make this work, and it would also prevent BBC One from resceduling either Strictly or Atlantis, their current double-act ratings defense against ITV's The X Factor.

Starring Matt Smith, David Tennant, Jenna Coleman, Billie Piper and John Hurt, The Day Of The Doctor airs worldwide, and in 3D in select UK cinemas, on 23rd November.
