BBC Worldwide have announced that the DVD/Blu-Ray of The Day Of The Doctor will hit the shelves in the UK on December 2nd. The Blu-Ray will ship for £11.25, while the DVD will set you back £9.25.
The release date is likely pushed back from the traditional "Monday after" slot following the screw-up that saw many shoppers receive the Series 7 Part 2 set - and thus The Name Of The Doctor - before the finale aired. If there's one episode you're going to want to see unspoiled, it's this one.
I'd hold back on those pre-orders if I were you though, guys. The price indicates that this is one of those feature-lite "vanilla" releases, and with the upcoming Christmas special unlikely to feature on the Series 8 box set, I'd say it's a fair cert that there'll be some sort of box set featuring The Day Of The Doctor, The Christmas Special, An Adventure In Time And Space and a lot of the special programming for the Fiftieth.
Starring Matt Smith, David Tennant, John Hurt, Jenna Coleman and Billie Piper, The Day Of The Doctor airs on BBC One and BBC America on November 23rd.
