Foxx Confirms Sinister Six

Jamie Foxx has confirmed that the Sinister Six are being planned for a later Spider-Man movie.

Rumours of their involvement have been in the pipeline since Avi Arad was photographed near a Sinister Six sign on the film's set -

A photo definitely not leaked to get publicity going...

-but Foxx has now confirmed the rumour. When asked by Total Film if he would be willing to reprise his role in a future movie, the Django Unchained star answered "Yes, they actually talked about it, the Sinister Six. So, fingers crossed, because when you think about it, electricity never dies, it just goes to a different place."

Guess he survives the movie, then.

Foxx as Max Dillon, pre-transformation

There's certainly room for a largescale team-up of villains for Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man to face in the latest big-screen franchise. As well as Electro, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will see Paul Giamatti appear as The Rhino. And of course, Rhys Ifans' Lizard was still very much alive at the end of the previous movie, and was last seen being approached by a sinister (no pun intended) figure.

Presumably Not Rhino's Finalised Outfit

And on top of that, Spidey 2 sees Chris Cooper and Dane Dehaan as Norman and Harry Osbourne (though no word on whether they Goblin-up), Colm Feore as a pre-Vulture Adrian Toomes, Felicity Jones rumoured to be playing Felicia Hardy (Jones is definitely in the movie, but her role is still up for debate), and an even more unsubstantiated - but no less exciting - rumour that Jim Carrey is to cameo as Carnage.

No wonder they had no room for Mary Jane.

Also starring Emma Stone, Martin Sheen and Sally Field, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 releases in the UK on the 18th April 2014, and on the 2nd May in the US.
