Overman: "Misfits Season Four Was Not Our Finest Hour"

Misfits creator Howard Overman has admitted to being "really disappointed" with aspects of the fourth season.

Overman told SFX that "the loss of a certain character at short notice" caused "massive problems" for the show.

"The start of the series was not our finest hour by a long stretch," the writer admitted. "But we were only a few weeks out of filming when suddenly everything was thrown up in the air."

He added: "I think series four suffered across the board from a sudden scrabble to fix things."

It's clear that he is referring to the departure of Lauren Socha's Kelly, who was written out off-screen before the fourth season began. This could be the first tacit admission that Kelly's departure was not "always planned" as the production team had claimed at the time, but was more to do with the fact that Socha was revealed to be a violent racist scumbag

Why is it the beautiful ones are always crazy?

Let's hope that things run more smoothly when Misfits returns for its final season October 23 at 10pm on E4.
