BREAKING: Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special Title, Run-Time Announced.

The BBC have at last confirmed the title and run-time of the much-anticipated 50th Anniversary episode of Doctor Who. Airing Saturday 23rd November on BBC One and BBC America, The Day Of The Doctor will run for 75 minutes.

The episode sees current Doctor Matt Smith joining up with previous Doctor David Tennant and John Hurt's mysterious disgraced "Doctor" first seen in The Name Of The Doctor, and features the return of classic enemies the Zygons for the first time on screen since their debut in Tom Baker's second season.

But that's not all: The Beeb have also (finally) announced a slew of other programming to celebrate the show's milestone. In addition to Mark Gatiss' docu-drama An Adventure In Time And Space, we're set to get a repeat showing of the first ever serial on BBC Four, in a remastered DVD quality never before broadcast on British television, a BBC Two lecture from Brian Cox on the science behind the show, and a ninety minute show on BBC Radio 2 asking "Who Is The Doctor?". BBC Two gets more action in the form of a Culture Show special, while BBC Three will have "several commissions" - including a previously announced talking-heads style show in which a panel of celebs and fans weigh in on the legacy of Who.

Take that, Corrie.

It seems that Moffat's claims that Doctor Who will "take over telly" during the anniversary are finally starting to look like they may bear fruit.

The Day Of The Doctor stars Matt Smith, David Tennant, John Hurt and Jenna Coleman, and airs on BBC One and in 3D in select cinemas, on November 23rd.

Get excited.

UPDATE: That BBC link seems to be down now. A sign that the information shouldn't have leaked yet? Or a sign that the info was false? We'll have to wait and see...
