Rashida Jones For The Wasp?

Ant-Man has yet to be cast, but rumours are already spreading as to who will play his wife Janet Van Dyne - aka superhero The Wasp - in the upcoming Edgar Wright flick.

Superhero Movie News has hinted that Rashida Jones is being considered for the role.

"Janet will be a love interest and a major supporting character," a source tells the site. "We would see multiple references to her future as The Wasp throughout the film."

While Ms. Jones would actually be a very acceptable casting choice, the lack of a named source in the SMN article makes me think that this is most probably just speculation based on the fact that Paul Rudd, with whom Jones has had some excellent on-screen chemistry in the past, is one of the two front-runners for the lead role at the moment.

I wouldn't get too excited just yet - at least until we see who has the Hank Pym role - but it is an interesting rumour.

Ant-Man is out in July 2015.
