A film adaptation of Charles Burns' seminal graphic novel Black Hole is going ahead, with David Fincher on board to direct. Brad Pitt's Plan B production company will develop the picture.

The novel, originally published as a twelve-issue series between 1995 and 2005, deals with an STD that spead amongst a group of high schoolers in the 1970s, causing them to mutate in weird and disturbing ways.
As the disease spreads, the promiscuous youngsters are drawn into a web of paranoia and murder.
