Arrow: Flash Spin-Off In Development

The CW are planning a spin-off of hit show Arrow focusing on Grant Gustin's Barry Allen (aka The Flash).

Barry was initially planned to feature in three episodes of Arrow's second season, but the popularity of the character has lead The CW to push for a full show instead.

It is not known if this means that Gustin will still appear in episode 20 this season (which was to be his last), or whether things will be rewritten to accomodate the new series.

Arrow co-creators Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg are on board for the pilot and Geoff Johns is writing as well as Arrow pilot director David Nutter.

The latter will also executive produce with Berlanti and Kreisberg, while Melissa Kellner Berman is co-executive producing.

The network made the decision on a Flash pilot as it would purportedly mean a bigger budget than one they'd get on a usual episode basis.

The CW certainly seem to have faith in this series, at least.
